ABOUT THE ARTIST
The son of two professional artists, Timothy Lamb grew up in the Seattle, Washington area, immersed in a creative household that nurtured artistic curiosity. Early inspiration began in his childhood home, where he discovered illustrations from a vast collection of books highlighting illustration and commercial art. His talent was recognized from a young age, and he was tapped to create local murals and community art installations.
He later made his way down the California coast to continue his artistic training, first studying fine art and illustration at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where he was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus in 2013, before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in animation.
Professionally Lamb has worked in the film industry for more than two decades serving as an Art Director, Character Designer, and Production Designer. He has worked on more than ten feature films at DreamWorks Animation and other studios including Sony Animation, Mikros Animation, Nickelodeon, and Annapurna Animation. Lamb is a seven-time Annie Award-nominated artist, and most recently served as Production Designer on the Emmy Award-winning film, Orion and the Dark. He is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
In 2017, Lamb presented “God, Savage, and the Amazon,” a solo exhibition at Gallery Nucleus in Portland, Oregon, which sold out before its opening reception. In his second solo exhibition, “Dream House,” Lamb shifts both his focus and subject matter, creating a body of work that reflects on loss and recovery in the aftermath of losing his home in the 2025 Eaton Canyon fires.
